What stands out

Our reading of the figures below, not a review. We have not stayed here.

Large: 238 rooms

That is more than double the Maldives median of 110 registered rooms, and bigger than 92% of resorts here. Islands this size run buffets at scale and fill their beaches; it is the opposite trade to a forty-villa property, and worth wanting deliberately rather than discovering on arrival.

153 km out

Far enough south or north that the transfer is a significant part of both the cost and the day. Whatever the nightly rate looks like, price the journey before comparing it with somewhere in Malé Atoll.

Arriving

Nearest runway other than Velana is Ifuru (IFU), 28 km away. Trans Maldivian Airways lists a seaplane transfer here, which carries hard limits:

Daylight only

Seaplanes cannot fly after dark. Whatever time your international flight lands, the transfer only runs between sunrise and sunset — roughly 06:00 to 18:00 year round, since the Maldives sits near the equator and day length barely changes.

A late arrival costs you a night

Land too late for the last seaplane and you overnight in Malé or Hulhumalé at your own expense, then fly out the next morning. The operator says so plainly; resort booking pages generally do not. Budget for a hotel night and a lost day whenever your inbound flight arrives late afternoon or later.

25kg baggage limit, not your airline’s

The seaplane allowance is 25kg per person total — 20kg checked plus 5kg hand luggage. Most international carriers allow 30kg or more, so the constraint that matters is the one nobody mentions when you book the flight. Excess is charged, or your bag follows on a later aircraft.

Lounge access is not automatic

Some resorts include a lounge at the seaplane terminal and some do not. Without one you wait in the public Neeri Lounge, where refreshments are bought rather than included. Waits of several hours are normal, because seaplanes depart when they are full rather than to a published timetable.

What “Premium All Inclusive (PAI)” does not include

From the resort’s own published terms. This is where an all-inclusive plan usually stops meaning what it sounds like.

  • The Albino Bar's headline "101 Cocktails" menu is available only under a further "Indulgence" package upgrade, not under the base Premium All Inclusive plan.
  • Drinks consumed after midnight are charged, except at the 24-hour Café Mass Bar.
  • Any facility or activity not expressly named in the resort's own PAI document is charged.
  • Beverages are served one glass at a time, for the ordering guest's own consumption, not by the bottle or round.
  • Alcohol is not served to guests under 18, and not served during excursions.
  • Of the two included excursions (Sunset Cruise, Dolphin Watching), stays of five nights or fewer get only one; both require a stay of six nights or more.
  • Birthday perks (a fruit basket, a bottle of wine on arrival) are stated as "for Water Villa guests only" — not part of the plan for other villa categories.
  • All guests registered in the same room must be on the same Premium All Inclusive package — one guest cannot be on a lesser plan.

The plan itself is genuinely broad — five bars, a named premium-spirits list, and a 24-hour Café Mass Bar — more generous than most resorts in this dataset before the exclusions above are applied.

Transfer

45-minute seaplane. $550, Rate for stays 1 Nov 2025 - 31 Oct 2026, per adult or child aged 12+; a child (2-11.99 years) fare of USD 275 is also published. The rate rises to USD 575 (child: USD 288) for stays from 1 Nov 2026. — not included in the room rate. The resort prints that figure without saying whether it covers the return journey, so it may be each way. Confirm before you budget on it — the difference is the whole price again.

An alternative routing — a roughly 20-minute domestic flight plus a 45-minute speedboat — is also published, at USD 475 per adult/child 12+ (USD 238 per younger child), complimentary only for stays of 7+ nights (Apr-Oct) or 14+ nights (Nov-Mar). Neither route's price is stated as one-way or round trip.
